FESTIVE EVENTS IN CHEBOKSARY ON FAMILY, LOVE, AND FIDELITY DAY

On the Day of Love, Family, and Fidelity, festive events were held in the capital of Chuvashia with the participation of Valery Konstantinovich Bobkov, Member of the Public Chamber of the Union State, Hero of the Soviet Union, Honored Artist of the Chuvash Republic, Honorary Citizen of the City of Cheboksary, and Ataman of the Volga Cossack District .

The center of the celebration was the square near the Holy Trinity Monastery, where Orthodox believers gathered. It was where, on July 8, 2016, at the initiative of Valery Konstantinovich Bobkov, a monument to Saints Peter and Fevronia of Murom was erected.

After the Solemn Divine Service in the Church of the Archangel Michael, Cossacks, men and women, and all Orthodox people honored the memory of the Holy Blessed Princes Peter and Fevronia of Murom.

Valery Konstantinovich Bobkov, who is the co-author of the monument, said:

"For four years now, this sculpture, which sculptor S.M. Isakov and I designed for our city, has delighted us, residents and visitors alike. Much has changed since its consecration. Bishop Barnabas has departed, as has Mikhail Vasilyevich Ignatiev, who with great love came with his wife, Larisa Yuryevna, for the consecration. There was a large concert by Cossack ensembles. And now, with the pandemic still ongoing, the concert cannot be held, as all public events have been cancelled. So let us pray and honor the memory by laying flowers at the sculpture! May newlyweds continue to bring flowers here after their wedding registration; may those in love and married couples be under the protection of these wonderful Saints Peter and Fevronia of Murom."

A little earlier, V.K. Bobkov admitted that the idea of installing a monument to Saints Peter and Fevronia was not born by chance.

"We chose it because family, love, devotion, and faith—everyone should have them. Without God, without faith, without a strong family, nothing will be possible.".
